Flashback Monday...Temperance

Greetings!

I decidedd to look back at some of my cards that I created when I was first starting to make cards.  I thought this card using the adorable, round Garfield would be appropriate after Thanksgiving. lol

I should pull this image out of my stash and redo it and post it with this one to see how different they would be.  I know just by looking at it that I wouldn't do this layout.  I don't understand why I cut Garfield's head off (poor kitty).

Well, thanks for flashbacking with me.

Little Winter Fairy's horse

Greetings!

I hope that you are all recovering well after the Turkey Dinner.  :-)  Today is new release day over at "a day for daisies."  Tammy is offering up a beautiful selection of images that will be sure to be the focal point for your creations.

Aren't they gorgeous?  You can head over to the store and pick them up, but hold on before you do look at what I created using the beautiful Little Winter Fairy's horse.

I love how this turned out, because I can imagine a little girl going "goo goo gaa gaa" over it.  Okay, maybe I'm the only one that does that; nevertheless, these are fun images.  Make a purchase today only and you get 25% off.  Sooo, take sometime in between running out to the stores, and head over to "a day for daisies" store and place your order.

Thanksgiving Day Post

Greetings!  Happy Thanksgiving!! :-)

I hope that you are surrounded by your fam...being thankful and eating some turkey and stuffing dressing (lol).  This post is a hodgepodge of creations that I've been working on using images or wordart from Paulette's Create with TLC.  If you follow my blog, you have heard me chat about Paulette and her awesome wordart.  Well, she also creates vintage images, as well.  I've posted a few of them in the past.

Well anyways, here are some creations I've made using her awesome wordart and or vintage digis. :-)

These tags were crated using Paulette's Christmas corner wordart set.  I have so many ideas for this set, but I created tags; however, if you are a scrapper they would add a nice touch to a page.  Also, if you want to jazz up your Christmas Card or envelope add them to those as well.

This is one of Paulette's "Name Your Price" wordart and vintage digi set.  These are awesome sets for quick cards.  I make up a bunch of cards using these sets, because people are always asking me do I have a card for whatever occassion.  These mini vintage sets allow you to make generic cards for whatever comes up.

I love Paulette's creations, because I can always find whatever wordart that I need for whatever project I'm working on in her store or on her blog.  Her kindess and generosity is contagious and appreciated.  So if you have never visited Paulette's blog well now is as good a time as ever.  I guarantee that you will not leave the blog without downloading something.  Remember, if you do to leave some love.

Inktegrity DT Hump Day Challenge #24: Anything Goes

Greetings:

Baby, it's cold outside.  We are expecting snow tomorrow for Turkey Day.  Me and cold weather don't mix well; however, hot chocolate does help.  Before I share with you this week's Inktegrity's Challenge creation, I want to say congratulations to Peggy of Colorful Designs for winning last week's challenge. :-)

I don't know if it is just me, but the days have been going by so fast that they are blending in to each other.  I can't believe it is time for another challenge.  Well, this week's challenge is "anything goes;" therefore, what ever creation you have whipped up we would love to see it.  Here's a little something I put together using Hot Chocolate Slusser.  I am obessessed with Joni's penguins. :-)

I didn't have any small candy canes.  When I give this away I will add little ones and the handle.

Okay, now it's your turn...just head over to the DT Challenge blog and show us your latest creation.  If you want to get your hands on this little cutie and the rest of this family, check out the store.

Thank you...I'm 40!!

Greetings!

Okay, I will not officially be 40 until another two years, but my blog friends have reached 40 so I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!  You all rock!  I have so many things to share with you.  I've been fighting the flu (I think I won)!  My mojo went into overdrive and I've been a creating crazy woman. lol

Anyway, as a THANK YOU to you I wanted to give you the sentiment that I used on my Native American "Thank you" card.  I think the sentiment says it all.

Just right click and save it to your computer.  Anyone else who wants it, please direct them here to snag it.  Again, thank you and hopefully someone will show you some gratitude by having a gracious attitude. :-)

A Day for Daisies: "Attitude of Gratitude" Challenge #6

Greetings!

Today's challenge over at "a day for daisies" is to create a card that shows gratitude.  Create any card using a sentiment of gratitude. But here's the catch...you have to come up with the sentiment and design yourself! No pre-made thanks allowed!

First of all here's the sentiment that I created to use on my card.

Gratitude requires a gracious attititude.

I think this needs to be an attitude we have all year instead of just during the Holiday Season.  I hear people say that someone needs to "adjust" their attitude.  It reminds me of a thermostat.  I have a programmable thermostat at home; therefore, if I program my attitude to always be gracious despite the attitude of others, I will fair a lot better.  Okay, here's the card that I created using this beautiful image of this statuesque Native American woman.  TFL!

I actually made two cards using this image and couldn't decide which one to use so I went with this one.  She is such a beautiful image and reminds me a lot of my heritage.  You can pick this beautiful image up {here} and you can visit the challenge blog by clicking {here}.  We would love to have you join us!  Make sure to check out what the other talented DT ladies have come up with and leave some ♥.

Dream

Greetings!

During this time of the year the only thing that little ones are dreaming about is what Santa will leave underneathe the tree for them.  In one of my undergrad Psych courses my Professor told us that it is unusual for someone to dream in colors.  I found that pretty funny because I always dream in colors.  I dream in detail as well.  Anyway, I'm talking about dreams today, because I want to share with you my latest creation using an A-dorable image from MyGrafico.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. TFL!

You can pick this little guy up here.  May all your dreams come true and your nightmares disappear.

Inktegrity Hump Day DT Challenge #23: Sketch

Greetings!

Woohoo!  It is Wednesday!  Not only does it mean that it is time for Inktegrity's Hump Day challenge, but it also means that I am two days away from a week off from work.  Wooohoo!  I so need a vacation. lol

First of all congrats to E.T. of VIBGYOR Krafts!  She won the last challenge.  This week's challenge over on Inktegrity's DT Challenge blog is a sketch challenge.  Sketches are fun when you have an idea in mind of what you want to do, but just can't figure out how to lay it all out.  Well, there will be no excuses because we supply you with the template and you just add your creativity and *poof* a card is born.  I have chosen Hanna Star for my image, because I am so in love with Slusser, his sister Hannah and baby Hanna which  premiered last week in the Inktegrity store.  If you haven't checked them out, well you don't know what you are missing.  They are oober adorable...yes I said oober!!  TFL!

Come on over to our challenge blog here for some Hump Day Inspiration with this fun and versatile sketch. Please use Inktegrity images if you have them, but join in regardless! The winner receives a $5 gift certificate to Inktegrity store, as well as the free personalized train image. (I will be showcasing my creation with my train *fingers crossed* this week, because they are oober adorable as well!!)

Blowing Bubbles...

Greetings!

I hope your day is going well.  I'm popping in to share a little gift I put together for my sister who LOVES bubblegum and who has been going through some rough patches (as we all encounter).  I created this little token of love to hopefully lift her spirits and let her know that tomorrow is a new day that is not promised to us, but one that God's mercy allows us to see.  TFL!

It took me the longest time to find a large quantity of bubblegum.  I ended up finding them at Staples of all places.  I was actually there at 8:30 in the morning to get toner for my printer and saw these.

Exciting News!!

Greetings!

I just wanted to share what I believe to be exciting news!  I created a card a little while ago using an image from Sassy Studios Designs.  Those sassy sistahs create sassy images that I love working with, because they allow me to kick my creativity up a couple of notches.  Well, I created Rapunzel and sent her to the sassy sistahs and my card was featured today on their blog.  This is the second time that I have been featured (first time was my Wonder Woman card).  I've placed my badge on the sidebar.

Today, I want to share with you one of their new release images... "Christmas Present."  Now brace yourself, because this card is "Vavoom!" lol  I had so much fun playing with this card and can't wait to get my hands on the others.  TFL!

Also, I am entering this card in the challenge over at Sassy Studios.  You had to add stitching on your card, so I stitched the dp on the bottom.  I haven't used my sewing machine in so long so I am going to have to practice all over again. *gigl*

"A Day for Daisies" Challenge #5: Please Pass the Traditions

Greetings!

Oh it is Friday!!  Yippee!  Today begins a new challenge over at "a day for daisies."  If you haven't checked out the awesome images by the talented Tammy...you should.  I am going to share with you today a cute image she created for last week's new releasee.

However, before I share my card with you let me tell you a little about the challenge.   The theme is "Please Pass the Traditions."  Everyone has that tried and true recipe that never lets them down. Please pass the tradition! Create a card using your favorite recipe! Get creative with the design and remember...nobody makes it better than you! The challenge will run from  November 5th - November 18th and you can post your images here.  You have a chance to win one of Tammy's images, so you don't want to miss out.  For inspiration, please stop by my fellow DT blogs and leave some love.

Well, as you can see you have the freedom to interpret this anyway you like.  I, being the literal person that I am, decided to create a recipe card.  Actually this card evolved after I had a disagreement with a friend over a debate that has been around for years.  Dressing vs. Stuffing...which is better or are they the same?  With the Holidays around the corner, me and my friend were discussing our Holiday menus and I mentioned that I was sure we were having dressing.  She responded, "oh stuffing, we will have stuffing too."  I then said, "No, dressing."  She then said again, "yeah, stuffing."  I proceeded to explain to her that they are not the same.  She disagreed, thus leading me to explain that stuffing is used to "stuff inside of a turkey," while dressing is a side dish cooked separately (usually with turkey inside of it).  She still didn't seem to get it soooooo...I created this recipe card to help her out.

I will present this card to her prior to Thanksgiving.  I am sure that this debate will continue for years to come; however, at least I have done my part to educate one person on the difference.  Also, Tammy is kind enough to offer a wonderful image for you to use (if you choose) in the challenge and since it is Friday (New Release Day) you can get 20% off any of the new releases.  Wooo...okay you have all the deets...get to shopping. TFL!

P.S.  If you would like the Dressing recipe, please email me at cardsbycandy@yahoo.com.  It was kind of lengthy to post here. :-)

Inktegrity's Hump Day Challenge #21: Sketch

Greetings!

Happy Hump Day!  You know the first time I heard this expression was a couple of years ago.  I couldn't understand why people were saying this, but then I heard a local radio d.j. state that it was the hump in the week and you only had a couple days to go before the weekend.  It made a lot more sense to me then. lol

Anyways, it is Hump Day which means that we are kicking off another challenge over on Inktegrity's DT Challenge Blog.  We had a record breaking challenge last week with over 85 entries.  Let's see if we can top that record this week!

Congratulations to Gemma for winning the challenge last week.  You could be a winner this week by following this sketch and entering your card pic to the blog site.

Remember, you could win a $5 shopping spree at the Inktegrity store.  You don't want to miss out.

Well, I just wanted to say THANK YOU and to let you know that I am very thankful to call you my friends.
