Whimsy Stamps Challenge: Shape Cards

Greetings!

Happy hump day to you! Two more days left before the weekend. Today kicks off another Whimsy Stamp challenge and this time we want you to get in shape by making a Shape card.  Don't be a square!  Pull out your most unique shaped card and join us for another fun challenge!  I used the image Whimsy's "Connor on Bike" to make my card.

Here's my creation...

Connor on Bike

I used a 5x5 base to make my card.  I used a SVG that I cut on my Cricut to create my card.  I layered some grey Bazzill cardstock and added designer paper from Cloud9Design.  I then layered the image on the Bazzill cardstock.  I colored my image with Copics B12, B14, B16, B29, C1, C3, C5.  I finished my card off with a sentiment from Whimsy, buttons and silver dots from my stash.

Don't forget! You don't have to use a whimsy image. It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card. We welcome all paper projects.

Birdie Brown's Retro phone and Tammy's Scrapin Corner "Anything Goes" Challenge #16

Greetings!

Happy Monday! It's that time of the week for another challenge over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner. This week's theme is Anything Goes and we have two awesome sponsors this week... Scrapper's Delights and MarkerPop (formerly ICopic). I am multi-tasking with this post, because I have chosen to use the image from Birdie Brown's June Challenge "Retro phone," so that I may enter in that challenge as well.

Here's my creation...

BB Retro Phone

I started created my card using Kraft cardstock, SU cardstock and some dp from MME Miss Caroline "Dilly Dally" 6x6 paperpack.  This has quickly become one of my FAV paperpacks and coming from a woman who has over 50 6x6 paperpacks is saying a lot. lol  Anyways, I then added some oober cool Chevron diecuts from the very generous and super kind Bird.  I asked if she would make these and she did and I knew they woul dwork well with Birdie Brown's Retro phone.   I colored my phone up using Copics R35, R37, BG11, BG13, BG15.  The perfect sentiment is from Paulette over at Create with TLC.  To tie everything together (lol), I added twine at the bottom.

Well, I hope that you will join us for the challenge this week. Also, below you will find a posting for some yummy blogcandy from me that expires June 30th, so you don't want to miss out!

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Challenge(s):
Birdie Brown - Retro phone digi provided
Gingerloft - Red, White and Blue
Great Impressions - Diecuts or Punches

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #15 Ribbon or Bows

Greetings!

Happy Monday!  It's that time of the week for another challenge over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner.  This week's theme is Ribbon or Bows and we are once again sponsored by Bugaboo's Stamps.  I chose to work with the Silhouette - Hummingbird image this week.  I tried a new technique on this image that allows me to blend colors without using a marker.  I also created a three tiered card by making 3 easle cards in one!  This creation is full of new stuff as you will see.

Here's my creation...

Card Opened

Card Closed

Well, I started out using some yummy purple (and olive) cardstock from SU.  I cut them out using the Spellbinder's Mega Nestibilities Label #8.  I layered dp from Jodie Lee designs Nature Garden Collection.  I added ribbon from SU and added flowers from Wild Orchid Flowers.  The leaves are from Crealies Creative  dies and the flourish behind the image is from Spellbinders.

The image...
The Bugaboo Silhouette image comes in black; however, using MS Word I changed the colors and blended in other colors.  I used a Copic E41 to color around the trim of the image.  I finished the card off with eyelets.

The layout of the card...
Basically I created this card by using the basic techniques of an easel card.  I will put a tut together on how I actually made it later.

Well, I hope that you will join us for the challenge this week.  Also, below you will find a posting for some yummy blogcandy from me that expires June 30th, so you don't want to miss out!

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Challenge(s):
Great Impressions - Diecuts and punches
Crafty Calendar Challenge - Flowers in bloom

CANDY'S GOT CANDY!!

Greetings!

UPDATE:  You can now get the M&M badge. Also, I am told (thanks Sassy) that Mr. Linky is acting like a Diva so make sure you comment, because I will be pulling the names from there as well.

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday...Happy Birthday!
(Steve Wonder version- lol)
I hope that you are having a FAB day, because I am!!  Today I turn the big 40 and I am so excited, because the alternative just isn't acceptable. lol  I have a weekend packed full of FUN.  God has given me the gift of life and some added presents of  blue skies and lots of warm weather.  I thought this would be an excellent time to give-a-way some blog candy, because I would love if you parteeeeeee with me!!

Here's how it will work...

1.  You must be a follower of my blog!  (Fair enough, right?)
2.  Link up your name using the Linky tool below.
3.   Leave me a comment on this post sharing your wisdom about turning 40 or one thing you would like to do before turning 40 (if not 40 yet).  I love to learn!
4. Tell your friends!  (Don't keep all this yumminess to yourself!)

Here's a nifty little badge that you may choose to display...

Me if I was an M&M (just arms in legs chocolate too) - lol

Easy peasy!  Just complete these four things and your name will be entered in the drawing to win one of the 4 - $10 gift certificates to four of my favorite online shopping places.  It was hard to pick four, but I have a theme going. lol

My FOUR favorite online shopping places (this time around)...

Create with TLC - great place to shop for Wordart!

Whimsy Stamps - wide variety of stamps, digis and dies!

Oozak - where I buy my Copics and so much more!

Scrapper's Delights - fun digis and excellent scrapbooking kits!

As I stated, it was hard to narrowe it down to four; because I am a shopaholic and I truly love all the stores I come across.  I will offer more candy down the road and will rotate my favs!  However, I must say that Create with TLC will always make the list, because Paulette's brilliant mind comes up with the perfect wordart to match whatever I am doing at the time.  I have created my own wordart for some of my creations, but if I have brain fog...Paulette comes through.

Okay, enough gibber from me.  I hope that you will join me for this FAB 40 parteeee!!  I will announce the lucky 4 winners on July 1st!  This blog candy expires on June 30th so plenty of time to get your yummy on.

Don't forget to follow my blog, link up below and leave me a bit-o-honey of wisdom in the comments about turning 40 or what you would like to do before turning 40!

Whimsy Stamps "Button and Bows" challenge

Greetings!

Happy hump day to you!  Two more days left before the weekend.  Today kicks off another Whimsy Stamp challenge and this time it all about the buttons and bows.  I used the Inspirational Cross 2 designed by Kathryne's Stamp Art Designs.

Here's my creation...

Inspirational Cross 2

I started out with a white cardstock base (thanks Kim's mommy) added SU cardstock and layered dp from Jodie Lee Designs "Nature Garden Collection" 6x6 paper pack.   I also added flourishes and flowers from Wild Orchids flowers.  The ribbon is from Michaels and the button (with Stickles on top) is from Oriental Trading.  I had some bling from my stash so I added that to the cross and flourishes.  I colored my cross using Copics YG61 and YG03.  I edge my card using a white gel pen.

Don't forget! You don't have to use a whimsy image. It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card. We welcome all paper projects.

Let no man put asunder...

Greetings!

I hope your week is going well.  My week is moving along. :-)

Today I would like to share with you a card I made just for the fun of it.  I was playing around on the web and found this digital stamp store and in the store I found this stamp.  I immediately purchased it...colored it...and let it sit on my worktable for a couple of weeks.  Every week I would add something else to the image.  First it was the cardstock base, then the papers, then the cage, etc. etc.  I finally sat down this past weekend and put it all together.  I would have to say that my obession with "Say yes to that dress," was my muse for this card. lol

Here's my card...

Let no man put asunder

Bride and Groom - Maruva DQ, Inc.
This card was a bit different from my normal card, but I like to step out of the box every once in a while.  I wanted to make this card appear to be a cross between old vintage, but still elegant and modern.  As I mentioned before, this card kind of just came together.  I colored up the image and let it sit for a while.  I then got a new 6x6 paper pack from MME and used some sheets from that along with cardstock from SU and Kraft paper I picked up at the last Megameet event I attended.  I begin to layer on embellishments.  I started with the svg cage from Bird (no not birdcage...lol) who is so very generous with her creations.  I look forward to playing with some of her other goodies on there.  I used Cheery Lynn flourish dies and SU heart punches.  The pearl flowers were from Terri Collins and the other flowers are from Wild Orchids.  I added the "wish" key which was something I had in my stash.  I aso finished the edges of my card using a white pen and glitter (I didn't feel like pulling out the sewing machine). *smile*

Well, there it is in a nutshell.  Thanks for looking and commenting.

I am here to share with you a scrapbook page I made using the new release Mobile phone. I also used pages and elements from Scrapper's Delights "Baby Girl" set.

Here's my creation...

I have been putting together a digital scrapbook of my little niece Aaliyah and the idea to do this page came to me. There are so many possibilities for this mobile phone and I wanted to show you how to put pictures and text on the phone.

Also, don't forget that a new challenge is up "It's a male thing" that runs from June 6th - June 16th. I hope that you will join us! My creation is actually inspired by a male...my nephew. This is little girl and I am putting this book togehter for both he and his wife who is in the army.
