Create with TLC: Just saying Hello

Hello
Greetings!

I hope your Thursday is going well.  I have another busy day (and weekend) ahead of me.  I don't always get to take a minute and just say HI or Hello.  So, this card is dedicated to all my crafty friends out there...HELLO!

I used a 6x6 lilac cardstock base for this card.  I then layered on white and black cardstock and dp.  I used some leftover cardstock and dp to mat my sentiment from Create with TLC.  This card truly is a CAS card.  I really just wanted the sentiment and the dp to do all the talking. The colors were such a contrast of light and dark.

Hopefully this card will cause a contagious wave of Hellos to those individuals who you think of, but don't get to talk to very often.

Create with TLC: You're the Stuff...

Men are made of

Greetings!

Happy Hump Day!  I am back again to share another masculine card with you.  I don't know what it is with me and all these "manly" cards, but I love the challenge of them.  Honestly, the papers I recently picked up lend themselves to masculine themes.  I also think that the right dp or sentiment can make for some lovely CAS cards.

I was really inspired by the colors in this dp for this card.  I started out with a dark grey 6x6 cardstock base.  I layered on some teal and yellow cardstock and then dp.  Using a strip of the teal cardstock, I cut it on  an angle and added it to the corner of my card.  I matted my sentiment from Create with TLC on the teal cardstock as well.  I think it is simple, but yet perfect for that manly man in your life.

Create with TLC: Be the Sailboat

Be the Sailboat

Greetings!

Happy April Fool's Day!  I hope that you haven't fallen victim to someone's foolery today.  I use to be good at pranking people.  I would get my older sister all the time.  However, I haven't done that in a while.  I definitely didn't have time today, because as I mentioned a bit ago, I started a new job and I'm still adjusting my sails.  I am also training to be President of our local Rotary group in 2015.  It is so much work that goes into this role, but I am looking forward to it.

Today, I am sharing another masculine card with you that is inspired by the dp and the sentiment at the same time.  I saw this paper on sale at a crop I went to recently and immediately thought of Create with TLC's "Be sets."  I love these sets.  They are truly my favorite because they are perfect "stand alones" on cards.  Male cards don't require all the embellishments and frills that female cards do so these Be sets work well.

I created this card using a 6x6 kraft cardstock base and layered on this yummy deep red cardstock.  I then layered on the dp that has these beautiful red and blue sailboats on them and an antique finish.  I emobossed this really cool blue cardstock that has a sparkle sheen to it and matted it behind and across the card.  I also used a coordinating dp to put behind the sentiment which was matted on red cardstock and cut out using Spellbinder's Wonky rectangle diecut.  As I stated previously,  the sentiment is from Create with TLC's Be Set and it comes with an image as well.  Head over to the store and check them out.
