CS Designs Artwork and Challenge

Greetings!

Woohoo!  I was one of the top 3 over at the Art with no boundaries challenge!!  Thank you Chris and your awesome DTs. :-)

I hope your Monday is going well.   I would like to share a couple creations I made using the artwork from CS Designs.  I think of the designs that Chris (The C in "CS designs) creates as artwork, because you could easily hang them in your home or office.  They are truly gorgeous works of art.

Here's my creations...

This card I made using Arty Expression 4 and will enter in their Recycle, Re-purpose and Re-Invent challenge.  I made the card using the usuallycardstock and dp; however, while cleaning my kitchen I came across these round things (I think they are washers) and thought they would be cool to add to a card.  Soooo, I added them to my card and I think it gives it a kind of industrial look.  Cool, eh?  I will definitely be using the rest of them on other projects because they did come in handy.

This project actually was adapted from a project my Supervisor showed me.  I like to challenge myself and see if I can duplicate it with a twist.  The twist is that I added a velcro closer on it.  I will be entered this creation in the Art with no boundaries challenge with the Anything Goes them.  I used the gorgeous "Solitaire Mummyfied/Ribbons" design from CS Designs for this project.  I love the intensity of the eyes (in both images).

I must say that I love working with Chris' artwork, because it has such diversity and beauty to it.  I could honestly work with the same images on a daily basis and come up with several different creations.  If you haven't ever worked with her art, then you should give them a try.  They are reasonably priced and you can do so much with them.  I get easily bored sometimes If I am working with the same type of image; however, that will never be the case with these images they are too diverse.  *Note:  This is my personal opinion. d I wasn't paid to make this comment. lol*

You probably noticed that none or very little Copics was used on these projects.  Instead, I used a technique I call "Digital Masking."  I wanted  to add color to certain parts of the images so I masked certain areas.  I will show you how I did this in a quick tutorial.  I will try to get it posted later this evening.  (I'm headed to the Doctor's office right now.)

Why not join me for one or both challenges?!!  You'll have a blast.  Also, you will get to see what her talented DTs do with her artwork as well as herself.  Amazing stuff !!

Bonus Question response:  LOL...hmmm the strangest thing I was hoarding were the washers.  It's funny because I didn't know what they were.  I decided to use them on this card with twine because of industrial/techy look of them.  I imagine coloring them next time.
Thanks for looking and commenting!

Now get to creating...

Remember:  There are no mistakes in cardmaking, only opportunities for creativity!

  3. Candy, I love both your projects, they are both so different yet both are stunning. I like the way you strung the washers on your card, you are right it looks very industrial and even a bit techie. Hold on to the rest of the washers for a bit because we have something planed for an upcoming recycle challenge which will be a perfect use for them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful pieces on both our Art With No Boundaries and the Recycle, Re-Purpose and Re-Invent. It's always such a pleasure when you share your work with up.

I also want to add that I am both honoured and humbled by the lovely comments you made about my Art, this was so gracious of you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
