TLC Downton Abbey "Mice Dance"

Greetings!

Hi my name is Candy and I am a TV junkie.  lol  I do enjoy television; however, I prefer a majority of shows that stimulate my intellect with a few guilty pleasures thrown in here and there.  One of my intellectual shows that is also a guilty pleasure is Downton Abbey.  If you have not been watching this show check it out on Nexflix, PBS channel or something.  It is so worth it.  I LOVE this show.  I love everything about it...the writing, the clothes (oh how I love the clothes), the history and the settings.  It is just one of those shows that is packed with all kinds of goodies.  Well, I snagged an image from Paulette over at Create with TLC a while back and this weekend I was playing around and pulled it out to color.  As you may or may not recall, I colored up a truck "Betsey" a few post back entirely rust color. I chose this image initially because of the tin pan.  I wanted to practice adding rust to an image while preserving its intended color as well.

Here's my image...

Well, once the card was completed, I immediately thought that it reminded me of Downton Abbey character's Mr. Carson and Daisy. *gigl*  I used Basic Grey Oxford paper's collection, SU cardstock, and buttons from Oriental Trading.  I colored the entire tin pan with Copics W5, 3, and 1.  I then went back over it in certain spots with E09, E07 and E01 to make it look rusty.  I will continue to practice because it is fun to add another texture or feel to an image.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

  1. Hi Candy,

I really have to watch Downton Abbey, my mum and a few friends have watched it and absolutely love it. I will try and get the series on DVD

I love this card with another arty image, you definitely have a unique style that. I don't like mice but I do like the main image and the way you have coloured it. The papers you have used go perfectly with the image.

Thanks again for sharing your creations at Anything goes, Just keep on creating. I love your style , keep em coming :) :)
