DP2 Challenge #9

 

This is my entry for the 9th Bella & Bronte Challenge.  We had to use traditional Christmas colors (red, green, silver, gold, blue and a color of my choice) and make a card for a “special someone.”

I decided to use one of my favorite images from Mo – her angel.  I love this angel and love to color her.  I made this special card for friend who could use some peace in her life, especially around the Holiday Season. 

The paper is from a paper pack from Michaels.  I accidentally tore the edge of the paper and so instead of starting over with a new piece, I got creative and tore the other piece of paper to match.  I believe the colors worked well together with the added touch of green.  I finished the card off with a little dove charm (colored with stickles) just above the computer generated message of peace.

DP2: Challenge 7

 

Here’s my entry for Bella & Bronte’s 7th Challenge.  This challenge required that we use (2) Ribbons, (3) papers, and a decorative edge.  I decided to use Mo’s deliciously divine little “Sugar” elf.  He’s so adorable and I LOVED coloring him using Copics.  I used two different versions of candy cane paper as well as Marco’s beautiful deep red paper for the top note.  I added candy cane ribbon from Michael’s (dollar bin!!) and light green ribbon.  I also added a little charm that say’s, “Season Greetings.”

The decorative edge is Martha Stewart’s star punch.  I haven’t received my candy cane punch yet so I couldn’t use it. :-(

Oh well, I think that this card turned out well and it will go towards my card swap at work with my cropper group.

City of Auburn Hills Craft Show

Greetings all!  Today I had a table at my first craft show.  I have to admit I was nervous.  I make cards and people tell me how creative I am, but I don't see it sometimes.  However, today I realized that I may very well have some talent. *smile*

I had two gentlemen stop at my table and purchase cards from me.  Not women...but men.  The first gentleman was so enthusiastic about a card I did years ago when I was in my "sewing on cards" phase.  He picked the card up and put it down twice before stating, "I just have to get this card."  He purchased that card as well as another card.  His reaction to my cards made me feel even more passionate about making cards.  The other gentleman came to my table with his wife and he spotted a card that had two bears "just married" on it.  He too picked up the card up and then put it down.  He eventually walked away without buying the card.  I was use to this because everyone seemed to being doing this all day. However, he came back as I was contemplating packing up and calling it a day.  He asked if he could purchase that card and would I put it in a bag for him.  I did.  I believe that his wife will eventually be the proud recipient of that card.

Today, I learned that although some people may not like what I create...I have talent.
Today, I learned that friends are priceless...simply priceless.
Today, I learned that God works in mysterious ways (okay, I knew this but he reaffirmed it for me today.)

I will post pics of some of the things I sold today (JuliAnne the ornaments) later.  I am wiped out.

November 7th Card Class

I taught a card class entitled “Exploring the Punchabilities.”

Students used several different punches to create reindeers, snowmen, ornaments and a lot more.

Bella & Bronte Challenge

All I want for Christmas is…CANDY!

I imagine that Bella & Bronte would love to have stockings filled with candy.

 

I purchased this image a while ago, but hadn’t done anything with it.  The paper is this really cool double-sided paper I picked up at Michael’s.  It has these really funky stockings on one side and the names of different kinds of candy on the other side.  I added the candy ribbon to tie everything together.

I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Bella & Bronte’s DP Challenge 4

For this challenge I decided to do a Z-fold.  I used CTMH double-sided paper, ribbon and distressing ink to create a Christmas card that was not the traditional red, green and white.  I think Mo’s Christmas puppy is so cute.  I look forward to using him in other projects.  The stamp is from Stampin’ Up and it has a cute curly punch that goes with it.
