Whimsy Inspiration Challenge: Sparkle

Greetings!

It's that time of the month and over at Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Challenge we want to see you sparkle!  Yep, bring on the bling, glitter, Stickles, stardust, and anything else you have in your stash that shines. 

I chose to work with Stamp Art Design by Kathryne cute "Frosty Friends."  Before I show you my creation using this fun image, I must apologize because the Snowman lost his frosty friend in a terrible scissor accident.  Never cut out an image and watch the Voice at the same time.

Here's my creation...

Snowman's eyes

I decided to make a "Snowman's eyes" gift set.  I had several of those little plastic containers and I filled them with dark chocolate covered yogurt raisins.  Mmmm...these things are yummy and good for you.  I thought they looked like snowman's eyes.  I colored my image using Copics and added Stickles around the snowman's face to make him shine.  I didn't stop there with the bling, because I used my Copic Spica pens to add sparkle to his hat and scarf.  You probably can't see it well, but believe me when I tell you this little guy shines.  I also added some snow to his nose using Snow Writer and some more Stickles.  I finished this guy off with ribbon and a bling gem on his scarf.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge - "Anything Goes"

Greetings!  It's Wednesday and that means a new challenge over at Whimsy Stamps.

Springtime in Paris

I really enjoy working with cut files.  I try to use at least one cut file on all my projects.  On this particular tag I used the goregous tag and the rolled paper flower from the Shape EZ collection.  The Eiffel Tower and mesh is also cut files.  If you have a Cricut, Cameo or some other cutting machine it makes using these files so much easier and a lot of FUN!

Don't forget that you don't have to use a Whimsy image.  It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card.  We welcome all paper products.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Challenge #50 "Lots of Layers"

Greetings!

Happy Hump Day! Today I am sharing with you a card I created for Whimsy Stamps Lots of Layers Chalenge #50.  I chose to work with Stamp Art Designs by Kathryne "Angel Petals."   I hope that you will join us this week, because we are having lots of layers of fun!

Here's my card...

KKD Angel Petals

I created a 6x6 card using cardstock from SU. I layerd dp over the base of the card and then on a diagonal.  I also added a layer behind the angel and used my Spellbinder's circle die to mount her on top.  I added some flourishes from Cheery Lynn and the doily was given to me from my e-buddy Kim (www.scrapsoffaith.blogspot.com). Yay!  I finally used some. :-)  I colored this beautiful angel using Copics and added some Stickles to her blouse and the flowers on her dress.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge: Shape Cards

Greetings!

Happy hump day to you! Two more days left before the weekend. Today kicks off another Whimsy Stamp challenge and this time we want you to get in shape by making a Shape card.  Don't be a square!  Pull out your most unique shaped card and join us for another fun challenge!  I used the image Whimsy's "Connor on Bike" to make my card.

Here's my creation...

Connor on Bike

I used a 5x5 base to make my card.  I used a SVG that I cut on my Cricut to create my card.  I layered some grey Bazzill cardstock and added designer paper from Cloud9Design.  I then layered the image on the Bazzill cardstock.  I colored my image with Copics B12, B14, B16, B29, C1, C3, C5.  I finished my card off with a sentiment from Whimsy, buttons and silver dots from my stash.

Don't forget! You don't have to use a whimsy image. It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card. We welcome all paper projects.

Whimsy Stamps "Button and Bows" challenge

Happy hump day to you!  Two more days left before the weekend.  Today kicks off another Whimsy Stamp challenge and this time it all about the buttons and bows.  I used the Inspirational Cross 2 designed by Kathryne's Stamp Art Designs.

Here's my creation...

I started out with a white cardstock base (thanks Kim's mommy) added SU cardstock and layered dp from Jodie Lee Designs "Nature Garden Collection" 6x6 paper pack.   I also added flourishes and flowers from Wild Orchids flowers.  The ribbon is from Michaels and the button (with Stickles on top) is from Oriental Trading.  I had some bling from my stash so I added that to the cross and flourishes.  I colored my cross using Copics YG61 and YG03.  I edge my card using a white gel pen.

Don't forget! You don't have to use a whimsy image. It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card. We welcome all paper projects.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge "B.I.N.G.O"

I hope you had a safe Memorial Day weekend.  It's time for another challenge over at Whimsy Stamps and this time we are playing BINGO!  Here's the BINGO board that we will be using.  You can choose three items from the board either vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

I chose the top line...pearls, image and flowers and this week we are highlighting images from Crissy's Digis.  I chose to use her Daddy's Heartbeat which happens to me my all time favorite digital image ever.  I know that is saying a lot, but this image captivated my heart when I saw it.  Today I will show both cards that I created using this gorgeous image.

Here's my first card based on the Bingo...

This card will be given to my brother for Father's Day.  I know it has the pearls and flowers and that may not seem very masculine; however, it will be from my 3 year old niece (his daughter) to him.  I used a light grey cardstock to contrast the feminine touches and layered yellow Bazzill cardstock on top.  The designer paper is from the Take Note collection from Studio Calico.  I then added some pearls, flowers from Wild Orchid and cut leaves from MS punch.  I also used Spellbinder's Lace Oval and Oval for the image and the mat for the image.  I used Copics E11, E21, and E33 (for daddy), E11, E21, E00 (for little girl), and C5, C3, C1, Y21, Y23 for thier clothes.  I also used E13, E25, E27, and E29 for thier hair. 

I know a lot of people (including myself) are fearful of coloring black people.  I would recommend practice, practice and practice.  I took a class with Suzanne Dean and also played with various colors until I found a set that worked for me.  I still scrutinize my work and see where I could do something different.  So I'll never stop practicing. :-)

Here's the card I created a year (or so ago) using this image.  I made this card for the Ready, Set, Create! online magzine.

I took a different approach back then.  I hd just learned how to use the black and white coloring so I tried that on the daddy.  I wanted the little girl to stand out so Icolored her in pink and decided to make that my punch of color.  I used Spellbinders dies and tag.  The designer paper is from SU as is the cardstock.

Whimsy Stamps Inspirational Card

Greetings!

I have to start off by first saying, "Sorry" and then following it up with a big THANK YOU!  I have been so busy with some personal medical stuff that I feel like I am always behind.  I want to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time out and commented on my blog and has joined me for this crazy purple ride through the blogosphere. It is appreciated tremendously!!

Okay, now for the business at hand.  I want to share with you today a card I made for Whimsy Stamps using a bird from Lia Stamps. 

I know the colors are "different;" however, there is a story behind them.  I had colored up probably 1/2 dozen images and nothing was working for me.  Partially because I wasn't feeling well and was faced with the deadline of completing my card.  I almost through in the towel, but then I just started coloring the birds with my Copic BG10, BG000 and BG00.  I didn't think about it, I just colored.  Once I had him colored, I pulled out all the paper and cardstock I had just bought from my LSS (which sadly is going out of business) and the card came together.  I love the leaf ornamental design which is a diecut from Cheery Lynne (I believe).  I aslo used Spellbinder's Lace Oval and regular Oval.  I added flowers from Wild Orchids and some very old pearls from my stash.  The border punch is MS lace punch.

Whimsy Stamps "Anything Goes" Challenge #39

Greetings!

It's Wednesday and that means time for another Challenge over at Whimsy Stamps.  This time around anything goes.  I am sure we are going to have a TON of participants and I hope you are one of them. You don't have to use a Whimsy Stamp to enter the challenge, but we would love it if you did so. 

Here's my creation using the gorgeous New Blooming Border 2 from Stamp Art Desings by Katheryn.

I created a wallet card using cardstock from SU.  I added black cardstock on top and ribbon from SU.  The diecut is Spellbinder's Label 14, which is one of my favorite dies.  I added some flourishes from Cheery Lynn as well as a Spellbinder butterfly.  I used the New Blooming Border 2 corners and made boxes.  I then added the letters J O Y.  I colored the flowers using Copics Y06, Y08, and YG01.

Are you seeing spots or possibly dots?

Greetings!

Well, don't worry it is just Whimsy Stamps "Spots and Dots" Challenge.  Today we are challenging you to use spots and dots in your creations.  The more the better.  You don't have to use a Whimsy Stamp to enter the challenge, but we would love it if you did so.  So, pull out your spot or dot paper, ribbon, embellies or make them with your markers and come play along with us!

LiaStampz Music Ladybug

I used Lia's Music Ladybug for my creation.  I started out with SU black 6 x 6 cardbase.  I added SU red cardstock and stitched on dp from Bo Bunny "Alora" 6x6 paper pack.  I used Spellbinder's circle diecuts and added flowers from Wild Orchids as well as buttons to embellish it.  I used Mariska's technique on the ladybug and the leaf.
