Whimsy Stamp Inspiration

Greetings!

Today I want to share with you a card I made for Whimsy Stamps review day and I don't think I ever shared it here.  It may very well be the first Christmas card that I have created this year.

Lia_ Presents

I started out with 6x6 Kraft cardstock and layered on some two-sided dp.  I used my ink pad to color the edges of the cardstock.  I layered on some squiggly curls around the edge of the cardstock and popped up the words "Merry Christmas" that I cut on my Cricut.  I colored my presents image using Copics and the diecut tree is from Marianne Dies (thanks Kim).  I used Stickles to decorate the tree as well as Copic Spica pens.

You can get this image and the other fun releases this month from Whimsy Stamps (digitals).

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Wednesday: Are you dragon?

Greetings!

I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!  It is a bit on the chilly side here in Michigan, but at least we don't have that four letter "s" word.  I am looking forward to the leaves turning colors, because there are some beautiful areas around where I live and work that look like works of art this time of the year.  Also, the Cider Mill will be opening soon and hot cider and cake doughnuts sound yummy. lol

Anyways, I am just dropping in today to share with you a fun whimsical card I made using Lia Stamps "Dragon Birthday" digital stamp.

Here's my creation...

Are you Dragon?
I started out with a 6x6 card base and layered on some black cardstock and some birthday themed dp from my stash.  I cut out my sentiment using Spellbinder's circle diecut and matted it on another circle that was embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I then put a banner on my creation that was cut on my Cricut machine.  I colored my image using Copics and finished it off with Stickles on his wings.

You can visit the Whimsy Stamp Store and check this little guy out along with so many other crafting goodies.

Also, the "Anything Goes" challenge is still taking place so please join us on the challenge blog for a chance to win some goodies.

Here's my creation using Lia's "Driving" image.

Yes, you are seeing double.  I ended up creating two cards using this one image. I was inspired because my car has been in the shop for almost a week now.  I took it to the dealer for a routine oil change and tire rotation and in some freak accident they destroyed the entire driver's side of my car while washing it.  I know it could only happen to me.  They agreed to fix it and to give me a rental.  I miss my car. :-(

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Wednesday (and Challenge)

Greetings!

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am sharing with you a card I created for Whimsy Stamps using Poppy Love.  The challenge this week is to create a monochromatic card.  I must say that I don't believe I have ever created a monochromatic card, but was up for the challenge.  I decided to go with a yellowish-green color scheme.

Here's my card...

Poppy Love

I created a 5x5 card using cardstock form Michaels.  I used my Spellbinder's Label #17 to cut a design at the bottom of the card.  I then used CTMH stamp to stamp the sentiment.  I added some flowers from Wild Orchids and flourishes from Cheery Lynn.  I used Copics YG11, Y00, and YG01 to color the image.  The ribbon was from my stash and the key was part of a set I found as going through my craft draw.

Make sure you head over to the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Challenge blog and join us for this week's challenge.  I would love to see how you do monochromatic.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

CANDY'S GOT CANDY!!

Greetings!

UPDATE:  You can now get the M&M badge. Also, I am told (thanks Sassy) that Mr. Linky is acting like a Diva so make sure you comment, because I will be pulling the names from there as well.

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday...Happy Birthday!
(Steve Wonder version- lol)
I hope that you are having a FAB day, because I am!!  Today I turn the big 40 and I am so excited, because the alternative just isn't acceptable. lol  I have a weekend packed full of FUN.  God has given me the gift of life and some added presents of  blue skies and lots of warm weather.  I thought this would be an excellent time to give-a-way some blog candy, because I would love if you parteeeeeee with me!!

Here's how it will work...

1.  You must be a follower of my blog!  (Fair enough, right?)
2.  Link up your name using the Linky tool below.
3.   Leave me a comment on this post sharing your wisdom about turning 40 or one thing you would like to do before turning 40 (if not 40 yet).  I love to learn!
4. Tell your friends!  (Don't keep all this yumminess to yourself!)

Here's a nifty little badge that you may choose to display...

Me if I was an M&M (just arms in legs chocolate too) - lol

Easy peasy!  Just complete these four things and your name will be entered in the drawing to win one of the 4 - $10 gift certificates to four of my favorite online shopping places.  It was hard to pick four, but I have a theme going. lol

My FOUR favorite online shopping places (this time around)...

Create with TLC - great place to shop for Wordart!

Whimsy Stamps - wide variety of stamps, digis and dies!

Oozak - where I buy my Copics and so much more!

Scrapper's Delights - fun digis and excellent scrapbooking kits!

As I stated, it was hard to narrowe it down to four; because I am a shopaholic and I truly love all the stores I come across.  I will offer more candy down the road and will rotate my favs!  However, I must say that Create with TLC will always make the list, because Paulette's brilliant mind comes up with the perfect wordart to match whatever I am doing at the time.  I have created my own wordart for some of my creations, but if I have brain fog...Paulette comes through.

Okay, enough gibber from me.  I hope that you will join me for this FAB 40 parteeee!!  I will announce the lucky 4 winners on July 1st!  This blog candy expires on June 30th so plenty of time to get your yummy on.

Don't forget to follow my blog, link up below and leave me a bit-o-honey of wisdom in the comments about turning 40 or what you would like to do before turning 40!

Whimsy Stamps Inspirational Card

Greetings!

I have to start off by first saying, "Sorry" and then following it up with a big THANK YOU!  I have been so busy with some personal medical stuff that I feel like I am always behind.  I want to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time out and commented on my blog and has joined me for this crazy purple ride through the blogosphere. It is appreciated tremendously!!

Okay, now for the business at hand.  I want to share with you today a card I made for Whimsy Stamps using a bird from Lia Stamps

I know the colors are "different;" however, there is a story behind them.  I had colored up probably 1/2 dozen images and nothing was working for me.  Partially because I wasn't feeling well and was faced with the deadline of completing my card.  I almost through in the towel, but then I just started coloring the birds with my Copic BG10, BG000 and BG00.  I didn't think about it, I just colored.  Once I had him colored, I pulled out all the paper and cardstock I had just bought from my LSS (which sadly is going out of business) and the card came together.  I love the leaf ornamental design which is a diecut from Cheery Lynne (I believe).  I aslo used Spellbinder's Lace Oval and regular Oval.  I added flowers from Wild Orchids and some very old pearls from my stash.  The border punch is MS lace punch.

Over at Whimsy Stamps Challenge, we are kicking off another challenge #40 "Vintage/Shabby Chic."  So pull out your old lace (leave the aresenic where it is) and join us for this week's challenge.  Don't forget! You don't have to use a whimsy image. It would be great if you did though, and it doesn't have to be a card. We welcome all paper projects.

"Lo, I am with you..."

Greetings!

Today I am sharing with you an inspiration card I made using an image by artist Stampart Designs by Kathryne for the Whimsy Stamps.  This is such an uplifting image and who does needed some inspiration?  I used a card layout that I designed last year and it seemed to really work for this image.

Here's my card...

Again, I designed this card layout last year by accident.  I was trying to create something else and ended up with this.  I liked it so much I continued to use it for my card creations.  The cardstock is from SU and Bazzill.  I used Cheery Lynn Fancy flourish on the inside and outside of the card.  The 3 flowers are from Wild Orchids.  I colored the image with Copics Y06, Y08, R35, R37, RV21, RV23, YG61 and YG67.  I also used the MS lace punch for the inside of the card.

Emma Swinging...

Greetings!

WOO HOO...I am at 140!!  The number 40 seems to be popping up a lot in my life lately.  Hmmm...good thing I  not a gambling lady. lol  Stay tuned for some exciting news to come. (teeheehee)

I must have marbles for brains. lol  I created this card as my last card as a GDT for Whimsy Stamps and forgot to post it on Monday.  I was so happy to be an official team member that I didn't schedule this cutie for posting.  I used a Whimsy Stamp original called "Emma Swinging," to create my card.

Here's my card...

Emma Swinging

I love the purple colors I used to create this card.  I started out with SU cardstock and layered on a shade darker purple cardstock.  I stitched some dp from Bo Bunny "Ambrosia" 6x6 paper pack.  I digitally paperpieced her dress and jacket.  I used digital paper from Whimsy Stamps called Violet Spring papers.  I merged this cutie with a wildflowers background.  I used a MS lace punch and Cheery Lynn's flourish diecut.  The flowers were from my stash and added brads and Stickles to them.  You can't really see it but behind the flourish diecut adn holding up the twine is a real piece of wood.  It is a stick I found in the yard.

Good news and "Spring" card

Greetings!

Hope your Thursday is going smoothly!  Today I am sharing with you some good news (at least to me) and a Spring card that I created.  I will start with the news first.  As you know, I was the GDT for Whimsy Stamps for April and they asked me to stay on as a permanent DT.  I am so excited and happy about this!  I ladies on the team are so encouraging and supporting and for me that is very important.  I believe that I will be inspired and challenged to create and I can't wait to share my creations with you.

Okay, now on to my card share for today.  I wanted to create a card where the sentiment was the main focal point, so I created a sentiment and designed this card.  I think at the time we were having real Spring like weather here in Michigan unlike today. :-)

Here's my card...

I used SU cardstock and added layered dp.  I used the Spellbinders Circle and Beaded Circle diecuts.  I added Cheery Lynn's flourish (cut in two different colors) along with flowers from Wild Orchids. I created the sentiment myself on the computer.  I did whip out my sewing machine and added some stitching.  I figure the more I practice the better I will become.  I can only hope!

Whimsy Stamps "Whimsy Owl"

Greetings!

I hope your Tuesday is going well.  After a couple of long post, this one will be short and sweet.  I wanted to update you on the post from yesterday.  I mentioned a tutorial for what I call "digital masking," and I haven't forgotten about it; however, I will be revealing that tutorial and sharing some other exciting news soon.  You don't want to miss out on that.

Well, today I am sharing with you another whimisical image from Whimsy Stamps.  As you recall, I am Guest DTing  for them this month.  I can't belive that next Monday will be the end of April.  Where did the time go? Time does fly when you are having fun!  I chose to work with the Whimsy Owl.  I think his facial expression is so classic.  He could be saying so much with those eyes. lol  I chose a sentiment from Paulette at Create with TLC, "Owl be yours" to accompany my Owl.

Here's my creation...

I used SU cardstock and dp for my 6 x 6 card.  I also used SU Circle and Scallop circle punches for the sentiment and Spellbinder's Circle dies for the owl and background.  The chocolate cardstock is actually Cor'dinations.  The flourish is from Cheery Lynn.  I added buttons and ripped the edges using Tim Holtz's Tonic distressing tool.  I used Copics E50, E51, and E53 to color the owl as well as YR02, E41, YG61 and YG61 and YG67.

Belated Birthday Wishes

Greetings!

Today I bring to you a side step card using images from Whimsy Stamps.  As I mentioned before I am Guest Designing for them this month and I have had a lot of fun.  The ladies over there are so sweet and creative!!  I used the images Whimsy Hippo and the worm from the Whimsy Animals Accessories Set 1.  I dedicate this card to Paulette over at Create at TLC who celebrated her birthday Sunday and I missed sending her bday wishes.  She is so generous and giving of herself and I hope that she had a FAB day.

Here's my creation...

I cut the Hippo's backside out and mounted a spring on the back so that it moves all around.  I added googly eyes to the worm so that they moved around too.  The signs are from Whimsy Stamps as well, but I just changed the wording on them.  I colored the images with Copics.  I added lots of green grass and tall brances to make it really feel and look like a jungle.  I used buttons and a flower punch to make a sun.  This was a fun card to create.

Whimsy Stamps GD..."Bee You"

Greetings!

I hope you had a blessed Easter.  Today I am sharing with you some exciting news.  I am the Guest Designer for the month of April for Whimsy Stamps!  I am so excited, humbled and honored.  My e-buddy, Kim (Scraps of Faith), recommended me and the very sweet ladies over there were gracious enough to send me an invite.  I have worked with WS images before for Ready, Set, Create Magazine and really loved the diverse selection.

Today I want to share with you a card I made using the Whimsy Animals Accessories Set 1.  This set comes with the most cutest bee, worm, grass and beehive.  I chose to play with the beehive and wanted to try a different kind of technique on it.  I followed a tutorial from Mariska, but then changed it up ever so slightly (used a different glue and added glaze).  I loved the way it turned out.  This technique is super cool.

Here's my image...

As you can see I made the image 3D and added some Glassy Glaze to give it a shine.  The honeycomb design in the background of the image is from Wax Fruit Company.  The paper is Basic Grey and I stitched around the edges and finished it off with a bumblebee charm and some white pearl swirls.  I used Spellbinders Circle diecuts and Beaded circle.

If you would like to try out Mariska 3D technique, you can get the Olba glue she uses from Whimsy Stamps!  I didn't use this glue only because I was wanted to get my card done, but it is cool that it is now available to us here in the U.S. along with the syringes.  I am going to continue to practice making images 3D...so keep on the look out for me to come. :-)
