I am here to share with you a scrapbook page I made using the new release Mobile phone. I also used pages and elements from Scrapper's Delights "Baby Girl" set.

Here's my creation...

I have been putting together a digital scrapbook of my little niece Aaliyah and the idea to do this page came to me. There are so many possibilities for this mobile phone and I wanted to show you how to put pictures and text on the phone.

Also, don't forget that a new challenge is up "It's a male thing" that runs from June 6th - June 16th. I hope that you will join us! My creation is actually inspired by a male...my nephew. This is little girl and I am putting this book togehter for both he and his wife who is in the army.

Scrapper's Delights Going Gothic

It's time for a new challenge over at Scrapper's Delights.  We are asking that you have a Gothic Time!  To qualify for this challenge you need to have a Gothic or Grunge feel to your creation.  The challenge runs from May 20 - June 02, 2012 so come on over and join us.

I started out with a 5x5 cardstock base and layered black cardstock on top.  I embossed metallic cardstock using Tim Holtz's embossing folder.  I then layered more teal cardstock and then my image.  I added some flowers from Wild Orchids as well as a punched leaves from MS punch.  I colored this Goth cutie using Copics W7, W5, W3, W1 and BG13, BG11 and Copic Spica pens.

SD "Spring has Sprung" Challenge

Greetings!

Well, Spring may have sprung, but we had snowflakes yesterday so I don't think Mother Nature got the memo. lol  However, over on the Scrapper's Delights challenge blog, we did get the memo because the  "Spring has Sprung" challenge has kicked off!  Sooo, pull out your leftover pastel papers and bunny images and join us! 

Here's my creation using the Bee (hahaha...as I am preparing this post I realized that I am doing another post about bees)...

I colored this bee up with Copics and added some Stickles on the wings.  I used the Wax Fruit Co. honeycomb image for the background.  Funny thing is I don't like bees, I am one of those crazy people who will take out a window just to either kill or get away from a bee.  I don't buy the whole theory that they will not bother you if you don't bother them.  *gigl* 

I printed the flower out twice so that I could cut it out and have an "out-of-the-box" look.  I layered multiple cardstocks or a black card base.  I added the sentiment which I typed up on the computer , but actually got it from CTMH stamp set (slightly changed it up).  I finished it all off with 3 buttons I layered and some twine I made.

Scrapper's Delights "Tears of a Clown"

Greetings!

I hope your day is going wonderful!  I am going to do a quick post packed with lots of information.  :-)  Today, Scrapper's Delights is sponsoring the "Craft your Passion" challenge and the theme is dots and stripes.  The Scrapper's Delights DTs were given some awesome images from Janice to play with and I chose the "Tears of a Clown 1" set.  Now, I must interject here and say that I am terrified of clowns.  Yes, they freak me out really really bad.  I don't know what is going on behind all that makeup and they are trained to make you focus on one thing while they do something else.  Tricky devils. *gigl*  Well, despite my fear (and part of my therapy) I couldn't resist playing with this cutie. 

Here's my creation...

Yummy...I love colors and I got to play with some really bright ones for this creation.  My card is actually a circus tent that I played around with and made into a card.  I then used a Spellbinders loop circle diecut to as a mat for the image.  I digitally paperpieced the image, colored some parts with Copics and added a digital flower from Scrapper's Delights "Spring has Sprung" collection.  The "Tears of a Clown 1" set comes with the clown, juggling balls, balloon and sentiment.  I imagine that this poor clown is so sad because everyone is afraid of him and he doesn't see the point of juggling balls or giving away balloons.  If clowns looked like this instead of the clowing from Steven King's "It" I might give them a second chance; however, as it stand now they still freak me out. lol

SD: Kiss Me!

Greetings (or Top of the Morning to you)!

We have all got a bit o' Irish in us today here over at Scrapper's Delights as we kick off the "Luck of the Irish" challenge. We are asking that you use the color green and/or wish someone luck with your creation. I used the lipstick and lips from SD Valentine's day releae to create my lucky card. 

I created the sentiment that reads, "Kiss me and I'll pretend I'm irish."   I used Marco's Paper and SU cardstock.  The dp is from MME.  I used a corner rounder on my edges and added some Copics to the lips and the lipstick. 

As you can see, Janice's images are very versatile and can be used for any occassion. I can see making a Christmas card using the lips..."sending you warm wishes and wet kisses this holiday season." Your imagination is truly the only limitation. :-) So pull out an image, color it up green and join us as we celebrate the luck of the irish!

Creating Watermark Tutorial

UPDATE:  Sorry for the wonky way the second part of the tutorial originally posted.  I have fixed it.  I think the St. Patty gremlins decided to "punk" me. lol


Today I am going to share with you a tutorial for creating your own watermarks.  I typically use Photoshop, but I realize not everyone can afford Photoshop so here is a free software called Pixlr that is virtually very similar to PSE.  This is actually a 3 part tutorial (only sharing Parts 1 and 2 today) that will walk you through the steps for 1).  Creating a Watermark, 2). Applying it to your picture and 3). Creating a watermark directly on the picture.  I hope you find this tutorial useful.  I will share #3 and others in the upcoming weeks so make sure you check back. :-)

This is a free program that you can use to create watermarks, edit and save pictures and so much more. 

Part I:  Creating and saving a watermark.

1.         Go to the Pixlr website at http://pixlr.com/editor/ and you will see a screen like the one below.  You will be prompted to create, open from computer, open from website or open from a library the picture of your choice to work with.

2.          You will choose to “Create an image” and your screen will look like this.

3.    Here’s is where you will create the dimensions for your watermark.  Enter the name for your watermark and change the default presets to 1024 x 768.  You will see that it will be helpful in Part II of this tutorial.  Make sure that the “transparent” box is checked, you don’t want the white background.  Once you have made your selections, click “ok.”  Note:  I suggest creating two watermarks – one white and one black.

4.  Now you are ready to work.  Click on the “text” button on the tool bar menu and then click on the workspace.

5.  Your screen should now look like similar to the one below and you can begin to type in your information.   NOTE:  your box may not show in full; however, if you click on the top of the box you will get an arrow pointer that will allow you to drag it around to your desired position.

6.   As you enter your information, you can see how it will look on your workspace.  You can format your information by changing the font, font size, color and style.  You can also center your information by hitting the spacebar to line it up.  Whatever changes you make you will be able to be seen instantly on your picture in the blue box.  Note:  I changed my Font, size, style and color.  Make sure you choose a font script that is easy to read.

7.  Once you have everything the way you desire it to be, then you can click “OK” and save your watermark for future use by clicking FILE, SAVE,  and then the screen below appears. 

There are a few things to pay attention to on this screen. 

Section A:  The first section gives you options of places to save your watermark (My Computer, imm.io, Pixlr Library, Facebook, Flickr, and Picasa).  My computer obviously allows you to save your work to your computer.  I haven’t received a clear answer on what is an imm.io, Pixlr library can be set up by creating an account with Pixlr.  By selecting Facebook it will save it to your account there and Flickr and Picasa are albums that you can use to share pictures.  I have selected to save it to my computer.

Section B:  If saving to your computer, this is where you will decide to change the name of your watermark and the format in which to save it.  I recommend that you save the format as a .png.  This will give you a transparent background (no white) and allow you to easily apply it to your pictures.  Click on the drop down box next to the description and click on your selection to make the change.

8.  Once you have completed your changes, click “ok” and save your watermark in a place you will be able to retrieve it for future use.

9.  All done!!

Part II: Using an existing watermark on a picture.

1. Follow the steps listed in #1 of Part 1’s Tutorial.

2.    Select “open image from computer” and retrieve your picture that you would like to apply a watermark to.

 

3. Now we will apply the watermark as a layer over our picture. Click on the “Layers” tab at the top of the menu bar and then click on “open image as a layer.”

4.Retrieve your watermark that you saved in Part 1.It will show up on your picture and you can move it to your desired location by selecting the “move tool” from the tool menu bar.

5. I saved made my watermark using white font.You can now save your card for future use.Note:I selected the Edwardian Script for my watermark which is difficult to read.Make sure you choose a font that is easy to read.

6. Here’s my finished card with the white watermark.

This image is the Princess 3 Digi that you can pick up in SD store.

SD: Bring on the Bling

Greetings!

Today I am sharing with you another "bling" card using the Material Girl image. What an adorable image for a sweet 16th birthday party invite, prom, or even a page layout. I digitally paperpieced her dress and colored the guys tuxedos. I added a little glaze on the floor to make it pop and some Stickles to her necklace, earrings and the grey circle diecut.

This color palette wouldn't have been my first choice, but once I finished her dress I liked it so I kept going.

Scrapper's Delight..."Basket full of Bling!"

Greetings!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the "Love"challenge!  For the next challenge we are challenging you to "Bring on the Bling!"  This challenge will run from February 26, 2012 - March 26th.  Plenty of time to pull out your Stickles, Glitter, or anything that sparkles and add it to your creation.

I have chosen to add a touch of bling to my "Basket of flowers" freebie.  I also popped my flowers up using 3D pop dots.  This card is on its way to Lousiana as a "get well" card for my sister-in-law's sister who is recovering from knee surgery.  I wanted it to be cheery and colorful all at the same time.  I think adding the bling and popping the flowers up out of the basket added a realistic touch to them.

Scrapper's Delight Pyramage Sheets

Greetings!

Today I am going to share with you a baby card I made using the Pyramage sheets.  I created a tutorial to show how I created my pyramage image digitally using MS Word.  I hope you find the information useful.

For this tutorial I will use Digital Pryamage Sheets from Scrapper’s Delights.   I came up with this tutorial because I wanted to save on the amount of ink I used.  If I would have printed out each square image or only a few, it would have used more ink.

Open up a MS Word document and insert your Pryamage Sheet.  Make copies of the entire sheet for the numbr of each square you would like to use.  For example if you decided that 5 layers were enough for you, then you would copy the entire sheet five times.  You will crop the 5 layers that you want to work with.  PLEASE NOTE:  You don’t have to use all the Pryamage Squares it really depends on the look you would like to achieve.

Then use the cropping tool to crop out the squares that you want to work with.  Be sure to keep the sizing the same as the original sheet.  This is important when you begin to assemble them.  You want them to fit perfectly and not be disproportioned.

                                                                                                                     

Once you have all your layers cropped, then you can add shadowing to your images.  Click on a layer and at the top of your toolbar your “Pictures Tools” tab should pop up.  While still having your layer selected click on the “Picture Tools” tab and select “Picture Effects, Shadow and Outer.”  Dependingon what version of MS Word you are using there are several outer shadows to choose from.  You can click on the different shadows and see which one works for you.  For the sample below, I chose Outer, Offset Diagonal bottom right.  (This step could be done after you have grouped your images together as well.)

Group your images together (using the Grouping tool under the Drawing Tools), which will allow you to move the images as one image instead of separately.   You can now print your image off and cut out one square (instead of 5).  Also, you could copy your image into Paint and save it as a jpeg or png for future use.
