NettieG's Digital Gem Multi-Folds Challenge

Over at NettieG's Digital Gem Challeng Blog  we are playing with our favorite image and using Multi-folds to show case them off.  No square or round cards allowed!  Nope, we are playing with tri-shutter, easle, and an assortment of FAB folds.  So if you are feeling FAB join us for this week's challenge.

I used Spellbinders Nestabilities to create my card,  but forgot about the multi-fold portion of the challenge.  Don't make the mistake I did.  I am going to try and redeem myself by creating another card. We'll see.   (silly me)

Nettie G.'s Progressive Challenge Part 2

Greetings!

Happy Monday everyone!  I want to share with you the next creation in the Progressive Challenge over at Nettie G.'s Digital Gems.  If you didn't join in couple of weeks ago, you are truly missing out, but there is still time to jump in the fun.  This week I used DeeDee in her pjs. 

This image would be perfect to use on a sleepover invitation, scrapbook page or even a "thank you" card to another parent for allowing your child to sleepover.  I think it is important to teach little ones how to write thank you cards at a young age.  It really amazes (and saddens) me how many young adults don't send a thank you note.  Oh well, I'm stepping off my soapbox.  This is a perfect little image and you can choose between DeeDee or CeeCee.

Nettie G's Progressive Challenge: DeDee & CeCee Dolls

Progressive Challenge beginning today.

NettieG's In Childhood Fantasy Challenge

Greetings!

What's your fondest childhood memory?  Mine would be playing with my sisters up in our attic (we had a HUGE attic) and I was the teacher and they were my students.  We would have a blast up there. :-D  Anything to do with learning is what I fantasized about.  I would spend hours and hours on adventures in books.  I imagined going to the places I read about when I was older. 

Nettie G would like you to recall a childhood fantasy and use it to inspire your creation.  I chose "Shawn" because he reminded me of my fantasy to go on adventurers.  The sentiment I used was written by me a while ago and it states,

"Do not follow in someone else's footprints.

Instead follow in their shadow and create your own footprints." ~ME



I wonder at what point do we stop fantasizing about adventurer, fun, and all that gave us joy as a child?  I would venturer to guess that it was probably when we paid our first bill.  Having to fork over money has a way of making you face reality (at least some of us).  lol 

Oh well, the rules of this challenge is that you can use any image you like..and you recieve 1 entry in the drawing.  However, if you use Nettie G's images, you 2 entries in the drawing or use either of the 2 featured images..and you get 2 entries.  The winner of the challenge will recieve a Nettie G image.  If you win the challenge using Nettie G's image, you win 2 images.

So, dust the cobwebs from your brain and recollect your childhood memories and join us for the challenge.  Don't forget to share in your blog post what your childhood fantasy was.

Nettie G's Digital Gem Challenge- It's a bugs life?!!

Greetings!

I pray you all had a blessed Easter!  I got to spend the day with my two nieces who never fail to keep me in stitches with their matter-a-fact wit.  We went to church and then out to eat at Red Lobster which is their favorite place to dine.  I realized that they are getting so grown up (notice I didn't say that I was getting older) and I really have to make sure that I have more lil moments like that with them. 

Well, today kicks off another challenge over at Nettie G's Digital Gem.  We had an awesome turn out last challenge and hope to have the same this week.  This week we are focused on Bugs and Plants for this challenge.  Yep, creepy crawly bugs have taken over the challenge blog.  This week make a creation with bugs and plants on it.  Any bug digi AND any HANDMADE plant.

Here's my creation using Nettie's gorgeous butterfly.  Look closely and you may just find someone looking back at you. lol

Did you see the person?  Isn't that cool?!  Anyways, you can pick this image up at Nettie's store.  I made a flower out of paper to add to my creation which represents my "plant." :-D

Nettie G's Favorites Challenge

Greetings!

It's time for a new challenge and I think everyone will like it.  This week Ms. G is asking that you  pull out your favorite colors and image and create a card.  Yep, use your favorite DIGI and color.  You can't get any easier than this, right?

Just remember...you can use any image you want.  All entries get one entry in the prize drawing. 

Use a NettieG image and get two entries in the prize drawing.  There is no featured image this challenge.

I used the gorgeous Mother and Child image.  I wanted to try something different so I printed it on Kraft paper using blue ink.  I like the way it turned out.  This is going to be a Mother's Day card for a friend.

Nettie G's Digital Gem Challenge...

It is time for another challenge over on Nettie G's challenge blog.  Wow, what a great turn out we had for this past challenge.  A huge thank you to everyone who took part.  The winner will be announced on Wednesday.

Now it's time for a new NettieG's Digital Gems Challenge.  Since it is Spring Time here in the United States,
this challenge round is all about the ROSES!!

Their must be at least one rose in your project.  If you enter with any non-NettieG image, you get one entry into the prize drawing.  If you use a NettieG image, you get two entries into the prize drawing. If you use the featured image, the Dog Rose, you get three entries in the drawing.

Here's what I did using this gorgeous flower which reminds me of my mommy...Rosie!

I loved how the petals turned out on this creation (although they may not truly represent how this flower looks).  I also like the colors I used which was by totally accident.  You probably can't tell but the dp with the patterns on it is actually a pinkish color and the diamond images are orange with glitter.  I tried to duplicate that on the flower itself.  Well, what are you waiting for?  Head over to Nettie G's and sign up for the challenge and do a little shopping while you are at it.

Color your image as you normally would.
Attach to whatever background you choose.
Now, Lay out color matched prints, stripes, plaids, etc.
From these papers above choose 3 plus any other solid for a toral of 5 colors counting your backing
piece, for the card base.
Lay your image and backing paper on each of your choices, layering with the papers in several different
positions to see the one that is different, but really excites you visually......”Stepping out of the box”

Now, decide how you will use these on your card. You treat these papers the same as any other papers you would use on your card.

Nettie G's Digital Gems Progressive Challenge Part 2

Greetings!

I hope that you were able to participate in last week's challenge, because if not you missed out getting the beautiful Elizabeth in her petticoat as a freebie.  You will have to wait until February 1, 2011 to pick her up from the store!
This week's challenge continues our 1910 Fashion Show with model Elizabeth modestly wearing her petticoat.  Make a project using Elizabeth using her in her petticoat and post her to the blog by Sunday, January 23, 2011, 11:59 PM EST, and you will have a choice of Elizabeth in one of dresses. 

Your model will be a beautiful vintage 1910 lady, as are her fashions. There will be three cards using the same model but with different clothes Items and three winners.  The first two division winners will choose one digi from NettieG's.   There will be two(2) winners in the Card 3 division - one(1) for Color and one(1) for Embellishments.  The embellishment winner will also receive a gift package from Pizzazz Aplenty, who is sponsoring our Blog Fashion Challenge, and the Color winner will also receive a 'gift package' of digital paper and designs from NettieG's Digital Gems.

Here's my creation...

When I was creating this card I actually was looking out the window at the 4" of snow we had just gotten.  I love to stare out the window at fresh falling snow; however, I hate to be outside in it.  Living in Michigan, I should be use to snow, but I'm not.  I look forward to the day when I can move to the country, own a house with a huge wrap around porch, and sit on the steps with my dog "Dog" writing short stories, poetry and designing cards.  Yes, that sounds divine. :-D

I really wanted to keep the card simple so that the image stood out.  I think I accomplished that task.  I believe this will be an image that I will continue to color and play with to make it perfect.  After all, it is a potrait of our Savior as a baby...nothing but perfection is allowed for him! :-D

Nettie G's Digital Gem Challenge: Freebie Image

Christmas will be here before you know it and I haven't done very much shopping.  I truly do not like to shop.  I wish I could give everyone a gift card and call it a day; however, I fear that I may offend some folks.  :-)

Anyways, I want to introduce you to a new digi artist whom I met over on the CDAC forum.  Her name is Nettie G (I call her Ms. G) and her artwork is phenomal.  Her artwork tells a story and envokes wonderful memories.  I've become one of her "Gems," and I'm excited to join a group of FAB ladies. 

The image that I am working with is a Christmas tree, but not your traditional Christmas tree.  This tree is "sew" perfect for a card for the quilter and seamstress in your life.  Take a look and I am sure you will agree...
