Happy Leap Day!!

Greetings!

Happy Leap Day!  Where did February go?  I discovered this fun fact about Leap Day.  It is a day when women can propose to men.  So ladies, run out and get that ring and make it official with that guy of your dreams. lol

Illustration image

Today, I will be sharing a card I created using my CTMH stamps.  I am trying to use my rubberstamps a little more than I do, before I forget how to use them. lol  I used some scrap papers I had left over from some other projects and put this card together.

Also, with this posting I have accomplished a personal goal I set for myself.  I wanted to post everyday this month and I believe I have done that (sometimes two times in a day).  I am always trying to find way sto challenge myself in order to keep the juices flowing in my brain. :-)

Well, that is all for today.  Have a wonderful Leap Day!!!

Scrapper's Delight..."Basket full of Bling!"

Greetings!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the "Love"challenge!  For the next challenge we are challenging you to "Bring on the Bling!"  This challenge will run from February 26, 2012 - March 26th.  Plenty of time to pull out your Stickles, Glitter, or anything that sparkles and add it to your creation.

I have chosen to add a touch of bling to my "Basket of flowers" freebie.  I also popped my flowers up using 3D pop dots.  This card is on its way to Lousiana as a "get well" card for my sister-in-law's sister who is recovering from knee surgery.  I wanted it to be cheery and colorful all at the same time.  I think adding the bling and popping the flowers up out of the basket added a realistic touch to them.

Okay, now it is your turn.  Head over to the Scrapper's Delights store and pick up an image, color it up, add some "bling" and enter it in the challenge for a chance to win cool prizes.

Mo's DP2 Challenge "Lace" theme

Greetings!

Happy Monday to everyone!  I have a funny story to share before I show you the card I am entering in this week's DP2 challenge.  I had to go to the eye doctor this morning and of course I had to get my eyes dilated.  Well, for those of you who have had this done you know that sunshine isn't your friend.  Today is extra sunny (especially for February) here in Michigan and I feel like a mole squinting my eyes and trying to see my computer.  Therefore, if there are any mispelled words, punctuation errors or anything wacky about this posting, please know that it is because I can barely see. lol

Okay, today I am working with Mo's beautiful Senorita Flamenco dancing girl.  I love this image because of the flare of her dress.  How simply beautiful she is and I love how I can do several different color combos on this one image and they only add to her beauty.  The challenge this week requires that you add lace and this image lends itself to lace very well I think.  Take a look...

I love color and I had a blast combining all these colors to create this card.  I used paper from Basic Grey's Picadilly 6x6 pad (I believe in an earlier post I credited this paper to MME, but it is Basic Grey).  I used that as my inspiration for the colors of her dress.  I used Copics to color her.  I have had the fortune to see several Flamenco dancing acts and the little kids are always my favorite.

Moustaches

Greetings!

Happy Sunday!  I am popping in to share with you a couple of cards I made using some funny moustaches.  I am sure that you have seen that moustaches are all the rave.  I enjoy coming up with quirky sentiments to go along with them.

Here they are...

I used Marco paper's cardstock, SU dp and Spellbinder's diecuts.  These are definitely CAS cards.

ADFD Color Challenge

Greetings!

Today I would like to share with you a card I made using ADFD's freebie Cherry blossom.  I wanted to enter this challenge, because I love cherry blossoms and the colors reminded me of Spring.  While we have had a mild Winter here in Michigan, I still look forward to Spring.

Here's the inspiration and color palette that was provided for this challenge:

Here's my card...

I used carstock from Marco papers and dp from Basic Grey Picadilly 6x6 pad.  I colored the image using copics and added ribbon from Michaels.  The Diecut is from Spellbinders and the punch is MS.

It was kind of neat being on this side of the challenge.  I hope you get a chance to participate, because these colors are yummy to work with.

Sassy Studio Design "Cosmopolitan"

Greetings!

This drink is on me ladies!  Okay, maybe it is on Sassy Studio Design, because they came up with this Sassy image.  The card that I am sharing with you today will be entered in SSD's PCP challenge. We were to use the image and add some sort of "tie" to it (as in "tie one on)."  I took twine and colored it to match the colors of the card and tied it to my card.  I put the knot on the inside of the card, because I like how it looked better.

I love these colors together and really like how she turned out.  I am still learning how to color "red" hair, but slowly but surely I will master it (I hope).  Anyways, I really kept this card simple.  I think this shade of green makes it appear to be more dramatic.  I added papers from MME 6x6 paper pack Picadilly.  I added some glaze to her glass and stamped "celebrate" using CTMH stamp set.  The circles were cut out using Spellbinders' Circle diecut.

Thanks for looking!

There she goes...Counting Sheep?

Greetings!

Today I want to share a card with you that was totally inspired by the sentiment.  I sometimes will come up with or see a sentiment that will totally force me to make a card because of it and this is one of those cards.  Also, the fact that I have not been getting any sleep lately (can't figure out why) inspired the sentiment which inspired the card.  lol  See it is the circle of life!

Well, when I came up with the idea of making this card, I immediately thought of Birdie Brown wonderful Sheep set.  Here's my creation...

I just love these sheeps.  They remind me of the sheep from the Serta mattress commercial.  I used Co'ordinations cardstock to make the card and added dp from MME's 6x6 pads.  I tied it off with some twine and 3-D popped some clouds and a sun to hover over the little guys.  I also added numbers to the sheep to make it easy to count. *gigl*  The sentiment reads, "When you can't sleep...Talk to the Sheperd instead of counting sheep."

I love the way it turned out and will be entering it in the There She Goes challenge with an "Animal" theme.

I also entered this card in the Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge with an "Anything Goes" theme.

Greetings!
We are still feeling the love over at the Scrapper's Delights challenge blog and you still have time to join us for a chance to win some awesome prizes.  All the deets on the challenge can be found here.  Also, to get your hands on this cutie for a steal go here.
I am sharing with you today another "Love" card using the super cool Cupid image.  I love playing with these images and decided to create a gate card this time using her.  You can pick up this image and so many more by visiting the Scrapper's Delights store here
I used paper from Stamp'in Up and colored this cutie up using my Copics.  I cut the heart shapes out using Spellbinder's Scallop Heart Diecut and SU heart punch.  The border is from Friskars.

Mo's DP2 Challenge..."My Sentiments Exactly"

Greetings!

I am back again to post a card I created for Mo's DP2 challenge.  This week you must use a sentiment and so I decided to whip one up. :-)  I chose to work with Mo's gorgeous Nativity scene (AA) and got carried away with the browns.  I also used this week's Monday Mojo layout to design my card, which worked out perfectly!

Here's the Mojo Monday layout...

Here's my card...

I used paper from MME 6x6 pack (will look up exact name), which I got for an awesome price from Little Darlings Rubber Stamp Store.  I was surprised to find out that this FAB store is not far from me.  Feeling a road trip coming on! lol

I love the beauty of this little scene.  Mo is so good at capturing facial expressions in her images and she didn't let me down with this image.  The angel is in awe of the little guy he is keeping watch over.  I kept with very settle Copic colors, because I didn't want to take away from the image.  I used a chocolate satin bow to tie everything off and as stated before added my own sentiment that reads, "Away in a manger...sweet baby Jesus once laid."  This would make an excellent Christmas or Easter card.

Smile...It's Free!

Greetings!

With the current economy and everyone saving every penny they can get their hands on, take comfort in knowing that Smiles are free!  Yep, they don't cost a thing.  Sooo, this smiles on me and feel free to give it away.

I used the outline from some stickers to create this card.  I typed up the sentiment "it's free" on the computer and punched it out using the SU tag punch and threaded it through some twine.  Walah!  Here's another simple card that is so quick and cool to make.  I am learning that in order to pull off a CAS card you need to either have a sentiment that can stand on its or an image that can do the same.

Home is Where the Heart is...

Greetings!

I've been playing with my punches and I came up with this little scene using the SU Tag punch as a house.  I cut out some tiny squares and punched out a tiny heart to make a door.

I have also pulled out my stamp sets from CTMH, which I used for the sentiment and the brick pathway.  I added some glaze on the bricks to make them shine and cut some scraps to make the grassy hills.  Lastly, I created some clouds with a newsprint on them to complete my scene.

You melt my heart...

I know the weather is still cold in most areas; however, I finally got a chance to play with this adorable set that was a freebie from Designed2Delight.  I think you can still grab it for free until February 14th, so if you like it...head over and grab it. :-)

I chose the color orange, because I had orange sherbert on my mind when I designed this card.  I added some glaze to make the icecream look wet.  I also added some orange "tear" drops to show it melting.  This was a fun card to put together and this image (with awesome sentiments) really came together well.

Moo loves you, baby?

Greetings!

I know it is 4 days after Valentine's Day; however, I wanted to share with you a creation I made using Birdie Brown's adorable cow.  Sometimes I make cards and put them aside (like to take pictures of my cards all together) and forget I made them.  lol  Well, this is the case of this card.  I was sitting around one day going through my stash of odds and ends and created this card.  I had fun layering the papers and coming up with a sentiment to go with it.  Birdie Brown's image are truly adorable and Torico always produces the most inspiring sample cards to accompany them.

Well, here's my Moo loves you, baby card...

I used a lot of different punches and diecuts on this cutie.  First of all the sentiment and other tag shaped papers were cut out using SU Tag Punch.  The border was cut out using Friskars or MS punch (can't remember), the beautiful heart diecut is a SVG I picked up along the way, and finally the circle diecuts are Spellbinders.

I used copics to color the cow and used a glaze pen to add to her eyes.  The paper is from MME's Lost and Found series.

THANKS

Greetings!

I have yet another CAS card using my sticker stash.  I can't believe how quick and easy it is to create these cards.  I am always in need of a Thank you card and so this will definitely be put to good use.

I used my CTMH acrylic stamps to add the "many" and "for your kindness."  Punched a border using a SU punch and *walah* another card created.  I love the colors in the letters "thanks."  It gave me a lot of color options to choose from.

Saturated Canary

Greetings!

Today I'll share with you an adorable little image from Saturated Canary.  I can't believe how many awesome stamp stores there are out there!  This little cutie was a freebie and I just really love her eyes.  I love her outfit too!  She was a lot of fun to color. I will definitely be stopping by this shop and picking up a few of these cute images.

I used Stamp'in Up designer paper on this card.  I loved the colors of the paper combo and decided to use it as the inspiration for my little girl's outfit.  I used the snetiment from Paulette at Create with TLC, which I cut out using a tag punch from SU.  I colored her up using Copics and embellished it with ribbon and a pink brad.

U & ME

Greetings!

Today I share with you another CAS card.  I am really cleaning out my stash by making these simple cards.  I have several other CAS card ideas that I hope to make.

This is such a colorful fun card.  Although, this may make a perfect Valentine's Day card, I think it is also a good everyday card for someone special.  I used some stickers from my stash.

Key to my Heart...

Greetings!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I am sharing a quick "love" card with you today.  I was inspired by this key I found in a scrapbooking kit I got a while back from one of the craft shows I attended.

I was going to add a sentiment to this card, but decided to put something on the inside instead.  I think the key and heart lock says it all.  I used a pop dot to adhere it and added some twine.  The heart shape was punched out using SU punch and I stamped a key hole using Tim Holtz's Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die.  I know this isn't how it was intended to use, but I think it worked so I went for it.  I am still cleaning out my scraps (or odds and ends) in preparation to finally complete my craftroom upstaris.

Vintage Valentine

Greetings!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  I purchased MME "Lost and Found" 6 x6 paper pack and it had some yummy papers that are perfect for Valentine's Day.  I actually used the paper as my inspiration for this vintage card.

I used some leftover scraps from other projects and rounded the edges with a corner punch.  I also used some lace and punched out a heart.  I think the background dp makes it very vintage.

Life is Beautiful...

Greetings!

I'm sharing a card with you that was inspired by dp from SU.  The paper has the words "life is beautiful" all over it and so I used it to create this card.  I added a sentiment from Paulette at Create with TLC which worked well with this dp.

The beautiful design behind the sentiment is a SVG from Bird's Blog and I love how it looks.  I added a little ink to the sentiment to tone the stark white down.  I probably should have printed it on a cream paper, but I didn't have any in my stash (very surprising).

Cards from Scraps

Greetings!

Today I am sharing with you 3 cards that I made using scraps of (colorful) cardstock.  I am still on my CAS kick so these cards are super simple and very quick to make.

My first card is a cute twist on a Valentine Day card.

My second card is just strips of cardstock with a ribbon.  Very simple, but effective I think.

This card would be an excellent masculine inspirational/encouragement card.  I love this random color combo I came up with.  I really think they work well together.

I hope these cards inspired you to pull out your scraps and create.  I will definitely be whipping out some more of these as they only took me a few minutes to create.  I love cards like this because since I make cards, people think I always have them available.  I could easily add a sentiment to these (last one has one already) and make them a birthday, thinking of you, get well, etc.  I used Marco cardstock, SU punches and stamp, CTMH twine amd SU ribbon.
