Greetings!
Happy Thursday everyone! I am sharing a project I made for the purpose of showcasing some different techniques. I created this to show some ladies (who are considering taking Copic classes) the different coloring techniques that you can do with digis and Copics. I tried to incorporate some shadowing, use of a blender, shading, coloring grass and brick, etc. I also threw in digital paperpiecing and coloring. They were impressed and I think they may have been bitten by the Copic bug. lol
I used images from a blog hop that Paulette over at
Create with TLC and her talented DTs hosted a little while back. The sentiments are all from Paulette as well, but not from the hop.
Here are different pics of my brag panel...
Front Panel
Inside panels
The first panel I demonstrated how you can take the B01,B00, B000 and the blender and add shadowing around the image to make it look like a sky and add softness to the picture. I've seen people do a lot of different techniques to add a sky and found this one is the easiest for me. I also showed how using W1, W3, and W5 will allow you to get a stone look like on the wall. I also glass glazed over the stone to give it more shine.
In the inside panels, starting with the far left panel, I showed how to color a different sky by outlining the sky and adding some BG10. I used the same technique on the water. I outlined the grass with YG05 and then colored it in with a YG01. In the middle panel I illustrated how to color cement using W00, W1, W3 because I wanted it lighter than the brick wall. I colored another sky and a fence. If you notice, I didn't color any of the skin on these images. The reason for this is because skin and hair (as you know) is a lot more involved and so I will save that for another brag panel. *smile* The last panel is the digital paperpiecing along with some Copic coloring and I used E50, E51, E53 and E27, E29. I think this is a neat way to showcase your skills. It's like a mini portfolio of your skills. I also wrote the Copic colors I used on the back of the panels for future reference, because I always forget what color I use.
To make the actual folded panel, I just cut 4 x 12 cardstock and scored it 3" (mountain and valley folds). I sponged some ink around the edges and added some dp and cardstock to mount the images. I used SU punches to punch out the wordart and used a Copic to outline the edges.
There are so many different ways to obtain a certain result and God knows I have tried several. However, these work for me for now and I was happy to share them with my prospect Copic ladies.
Thanks for looking and commenting!
Now get to creating...
